WELCOME
Dismas Charities, Inc. is one of
the nation's largest not-for-profit

community-based re-entry
programs.
Dismas provides both residential
and non-residential supervision
and treatment services for
federal, state and local criminal
justice jurisdictions.
Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, Dismas currently operates 25 facilities and 3
support offices in ten 10 states.

OUR MISSION
The mission of Dismas is to provide quality, cost-effective community-based supervision and
treatment services to individuals within the criminal justice system.

Healing the Human Spirit is the energy source behind Dismas' commitment to
community-based corrections. Dismas Charities values the dignity of all individuals and that,
as such; we believe all individuals are entitled to be treated with respect and compassion.

OUR GOAL
Our goal is to prepare individuals to lead lawful and productive lives upon their
return to the community.

COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS
Founded in 1964, Dismas is considered a leader in providing effective community-based
re-entry programs for offenders. Understanding that crime is a community problem,
Dismas involves families, faith-based institutions, employers, experienced staff,
volunteers and other service organizations to create a structure and environment which
supports successful re-integration.
Dismas' programs are cost-effective. Community-based supervision costs taxpayers less
than prison and jail confinements. In addition, community-based supervision allows
offenders to work full time and pay child support, taxes, fines and restitution or to provide
valued community service work.

As a community-based service provider Dismas continuously re-invests in the
community. Our presence has contributed over $191 million into local economies.
